Victoria is home to a diverse range of wine regions and experiences. Whether wines lovers are looking for an indulgent weekend getaway, an educational tasting experience, or just a short snack and glass of wine on their trip back to Melbourne – there is something for everyone in the snapshot of new experiences below.

Prancing Horse EstateThe Prancing Horse Estate winery, located in the Mornington Peninsula, has recently opened its doors on the weekend welcoming guests into the cellar door with an extraordinary wine tasting experience. On Saturdays, visitors can explore the Prancing Horse style and terroir with a vineyard ramble and discussion on roootstock, clones, soil and trellis, while on Sundays, the cellar door turns into an international biodynamic wine centre. Bookings are essential. Paringa Road, Red Hill South, +61 416 059 448.

The Macedon Wine RoomOverlooking the Macedon Ranges, the Macedon Wine Room is a perfect stop to break up a drive back from Bendigo, approximately one hour from Melbourne. With a menu designed to suit any appetite, patrons can enjoy a snack with a glass of wine at the bar or a three course meal in the bistro. Chef and owner Steven Gerdes brings 30+ years of experience to this new venture in the food and wine industry which has helped him shape his passion for good honest food and the best of the local and European wines. 652 Black Forest Drive, Macedon, +61 3 5426 3030.

Crittenden EstateAt the foothills of Red Hill on the Mornington Peninsula, Crittenden Estate is located just an hour away from Melbourne on a family farm that produces more than two dozen wines. Their new tasting and wine appreciation venue allows visitors to taste at their own pace, as they are guided through their choices by tasting notes and electronic tablets.
