Victoria is a haven for picture opportunities. For the hottest tips on where to go for the ‘most liked’ photos, we asked some of Melbourne’s leading and best emerging travel and lifestyle Instagrammers. Here’s what they said:

Prue Chilcott of @melbournegirl“All of the team at Melbourne Girl heart Melbourne, and love every aspect of our beautiful city! We also love getting out and about on a #MGroadtrip, and experiencing everything regional Victoria has to offer. One of our favourite destinations is Barwon Heads on the Bellarine Peninsula – not only is it very ‘Instagrammable’, the amazing food, drinks, shopping and scenery make it the perfect weekend getaway. This shot is from Natural Harry, located on the main street of Barwon Heads. We highly recommend treating yourself to a delish smoothie while relaxing on the cozy beanbags!”

Ray Reyes of @rayofmelbourne“Pyramid Rock at Phillip Island. An early morning drive to the viewing area of Pyramid Rock feels like you are in an open-range zoo. While driving, on the sides of the road, you’ll notice penguins walking along to their nests. There are also wallabies, wombats and  a wide range of native birds passing along. My advice is to drive slowly and mostly be aware of the animals crossing so you don’t hit them! I also love sunrise at Boroka Lookout in Grampians National Park. I remember waking up at 4:30 in the morning for this as it was quite a long drive from the city centre but it was all worth it seeing the very serene sunrise from the lookout overlooking the Grampians Water Reservoir in between the mountians which makes it really Instagram worthy.”

Sarah Hatton of @iso100_photographyThe Cathedral at Mount Buffalo. I was left totally in awe of this place; it’s a personal fave now! Just a note though, don’t walk up in shorts and thongs and almost step on a red belly black snake like I did! I sat up here for hours – it was bliss. Mt Buffalo has blown my mind. I had a blast shooting up there… The views are mind blowing. 100% I’ll be back here for winter.”

Aubrey Daquinag of @theloveassembly“There are so many great views to take photos of in Victoria, but my ultimate favourite would have to be in and above the clouds on a hot-air balloon ride with Global Ballooning in the Yarra Valley. The best and most beautiful things in life cannot be seen or even touched, they must be felt with the heart. When you hop on a hot-air balloon and experience Melbourne/Victoria from up above you feel a mix of emotions – fear (if you fear heights. If not, lucky you you’ll skip this first step!) which quickly turns into awe, then you’ll slowly feel a sense of calm, elation, warmth and gratefulness. The 4:30am wake up call is definitely worth it. The views aren’t so bad either! ;)”

Laura Bell of @lauraalycebell“It is a popular spot – but I LOVE the view at the top of Mount Oberon at Wilsons Promontory. Perfect for sunset. I took this picture with all the clouds and orange sky there earlier in the year. This is by far my favourite at the moment!”

Georgina Mann of @georgie_mann_photos“Bundalong (or anywhere really) on the Murray. I had a gorgeous early morning cruise down the river there and it was such a highlight. I took a photo of two people fishing in a boat from that morning there that I love because of that beautiful golden morning light and the tranquillity of the river. The peace is almost palpable.”

Steven Wright of @regularstevenPearse Beach on the Mornington Peninsula, or any of the back beaches along that spectacular coastline. The fact they aren’t well signed actually makes them feel a little more special, and those walks up over the sand dunes are a key part of the ritual. On the way there, you don’t know what you’re going to find and there’s a real anticipation – especially when racing the clock of the setting sun. And the walk back – it’s a time to think about what I’ve just found and captured. It could be the sunset, the dolphins, the rough oceans or the serenity, or even the Westpac chopper racing past over a cliff out of nowhere. Every time is different and always unique.”

Georgia McDermott of @georgeats“The most Instagrammable place we came across on our recent adventure was Daylesford – namely, The Lakehouse and Belvedere Social. Both had warm, attentive staff, aesthetically gorgeous backdrops, and delicious food that catered to every dietary request. Hands down my favourite stop of the trip!”

Liz Lyons of @breakfastinmelbourne“I am particularly fond of Daylesford. There are SO many gorgeous spots to visit – whether they be restaurants, cafes, shops, or just the countryside in general. I could spend weeks there! I had the most delicious dessert at the Lakehouse with peanut butter, black sesame, caramel and banana. And the Sunday farmer’s roast at Belvedere Social was amazing and so photogenic.”

Jackson Loria of @jacksonloriaReed Lookout is my favourite place to view the sunset in the Grampians – the colours look like a painting.”

Connor Vaughn of @connorjvaughn“The most Instagramable view in Melbourne? I’d say it’s 1500 foot above the city in a helicopter. If that’s not possible, my absolute favourite view in Victoria is the lookout to Loch Ard Gorge along the Great Ocean Road.

Lídia Gulyás of @lidiaontheroadSherbrooke Forest in the Dandenong Ranges is one of my favourite places in Victoria. It is the perfect, most beautiful Australian jungle to get lost in and chase early morning fog.”
