Visit Victoria is working with White Night’s Artistic Director and Executive Producer, David Atkins, on a program of culinary projections on Melbourne’s Hamer Hall. The projections are timed to celebrate Melbourne Food and Wine Festival’s (MFWF, 31 March –  9 April 2017) 25th year, and The World’s 50 Best Restaurants awards (3-9 April 2017) both taking place in the city in the first week of April.

In what will be a first for the iconic Arts Centre Melbourne venue, the surface of the building will become a canvas celebrating regional Victoria’s bountiful produce, and the state’s many world-class restaurants. The projections will start at 6pm on 31 March 2017 to coincide with MFWF opening River Graze event that will welcome 30,000 foodies to Southbank, and will finish on 5 April 2017.

Hamer Hall is an ideal choice for the White Night style projections; its location providing ample vantage points for visitors to the city, and with its own quality dining options:

Fatto Bar and Cantina has become a Melbourne dining institution offering some of the best views of the city skyline from its outdoor terrace. The menu provides simple Italian options big on flavour such as seared tuna, zucchini noodles, pine nuts, vincotto, nasturtium, and la tagliata, 300g sirloin, roquette, parmesan, balsamic.

Relative newcomer to Hamer Hall, The Barre is a sleek space offering a touch of luxury, a hint of showmanship and a lively pre- and post-show buzz that takes the bar and eatery from early evening to late night, with panache. With an emphasis on fresh, seasonal ingredients, the modern Australian menu offers both small and larger dishes to be shared and enjoyed with friends.

Teatro – Pizzeria, Bar and Tapas is yet another perfect option for a pre or post Hamer Hall show, or to visit anytime, just because it’s good. Inspired by the food markets of Venice and Barcelona the venue offers a Mediterranean menu with a focus on seafood, tapas and pizzas.

Arts Centre Melbourne, 100 St Kilda Road, Melbourne 3000.
